DPS / DIT Validation Program

DPS (Dedicated Pharmaceutical Specialists) in conjunction with the Dublin Institute of Technology (D.I.T.) have developed a series of Short Course Certificates (SCC) which will enable students to receive a formal accreditation from D.I.T.

The following modules will be delivered as per the new Summer Schedule (Mid-June until Nov 08)

Introduction to the Validation of Medicinal Products

This course gives students a broad understanding of what current-good-manufacturing-practices (cGMP) apply to the manufacture of medicinal products (pharmaceuticals and medical devices) and how this relates to validation. This course is based on applying good science and approved risk management techniques to validation projects. This unique training approach to validation incorporates the intent of the global ICH guidelines Q8, Q9 and Q10.

Development of Validation Protocols

This course shows students how to develop a validation protocol from first principles. Validation protocols are the test-sheets used in projects to commission and qualify new pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. This is a practical hands-on workshop driven course where the students will become familiar with the range of design documents used in projects to generate the commissioning and qualification test-sheets needed to verify the correct installation and functionality of a system.

  • Delivered as a series 3-hour evening classes over 20-weeks.
  • Successful candidates from each of these SCC’s will receive an individual accreditation from the D.I.T.
  • BSc (Ordinary) Qualification (Level 7) awarded by D.I.T. with full completion of twelve SCCs.
  • Niche areas such as Computer System Validation and an Introduction to Biopharmaceuticals at MSc Level also available.

The cost of each course will be €1500 and FAS will cover up to 35% of this cost under their One Step Up Programme: i.e. your portion of the cost would be only €975 if you satisfy the requirements of CDP as defined on the FAS website (www.fas.ie/services_to_businesses/cdp.htm).
