Pharmachem Skillnet

PharmaChem Skillnet is a growing network of companies that take advantage of subsidised industry specific training in the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, BioPharma and Medical Device sectors across Ireland.

The network was established in 2006 with the aim of fostering a climate of whole-company development in the provision of technical training and soft skills in companies large and small, consistent with the goals of member companies.

PharmaChem Skillnet focusses on supporting those in employment within the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, BioPharma and Medical Device sectors. A number of other Skillnet Networks participate in the Skillnet Ireland Employment Activation programme which is designed exclusively for unemployed people and includes free training in skills in demand by companies combined with direct access to employers through meaningful work placements. For further information on free training programmes for those seeking employment see the Skillnet Ireland website HERE.

The PharmaChem Skillnet network has a steering group drawn from member companies and it is their role to ensure that the network operates in line with the contracted objectives agreed with Skillnet Ireland. The steering group work in close alignment with Network Management in developing the strategy of the Network. Membership of the steering group is open to any members of the network and is rotated on an annual basis to ensure the network remains fresh and dynamic.

The Current Steering Group is as follows:

Michael Calnan - Pfizer - Chairperson
Mark Meehan – Novartis - Vice-Chair
Tom Nyhan – Janssen
Declan O’Sullivan – Novartis (NIPBI)
Claire Daly – DePuy Synthes
Donnacha Ryan – Hovione
